Adithya and Nitya are having a Kerala-style wedding, which is simple, elegant, and rooted in tradition. The ceremony itself is famously short, usually under 30 minutes. Key Steps: Varavellpu (Welcoming the Groom) - The groom arrives with his family and is warmly received by the bride’s family. Thaali-Kettu (Tying of the Thaali) - The bride enters, and the groom ties a sacred yellow thread—the thaali—around her neck. Maala Maattal (Exchange of Garlands) - The couple exchanges floral garlands as a gesture of mutual respect and joy. Mantrakodi (Gifting of Clothes) - The groom’s family presents the bride with a saree, symbolizing their welcome and blessings as she joins the family. The bride will wear this saree to enter the grooms home for the first time. Kanyadaanam (Giving Away the Bride) - The bride’s parents offer their blessings and symbolically give their daughter’s hand in marriage.
We kindly request our guests to wear traditional Indian attire for the wedding ceremony. Sarees, lehengas, kurtas, sherwanis, and mundu are all welcome. For the receptions, spice up your look with Indian party wear! Feel free to be as colorful as you like—there are no color restrictions. If you have any questions, please reach out to Adithya or Nitya.
Yes! Expect a Kerala-style feast, i.e. a traditional sadhya (vegetarian meal served on a banana leaf) at the wedding ceremony. There will be a mix of indian food served at all other events.
Guests who are looking to fly into Kerala can use either of the two primary airports in Kerala: Cochin International Airport (COK) or Thiruvananthapuram International Airport (TRV). Keep in mind, the wedding ceremony in Changanassery is approximately 3 hrs drive from each airport, while the wedding reception in Trivandrum will be within 30 min drive of the Thiruvananthapuram International Airport.
There will be time after the wedding ceremony for your group to get pictures with the bride and groom.
We would love to celebrate with all the special people in our lives, but we do have venue limitations. Please reach out to Nitya, Adithya, or their families if you have any questions. Thank you for understanding!
