Lorena and I met back in high school circa 2005 and had an instant Peruvian connection! Like two good Peruvians, Lorena and I love using nicknames for eachother – a hallmark of Peruvians is that the more nicknames we give you, the more love we have for you. Over the years Lorena & I have accumulated nicknames such as piki, pikitona, chata, eeny beeny weeny teeny and of course my favorite one – garbanzito which means lil’ chickpea. In case you were wondering, they ALL allude to the other similarity Lorena and I share which is that we are both very petite. We like to think that we are fun sized :). I cannot wait to see my lil’ chickpea tie the knot with the charming Jose who has been able to tame the fiery, feisty, fabulous lady that we all know and I love. The countdown is on!

They say you won’t have friends from high school as you get older but they were wrong. Lorena and I go way back to high school, maybe end of middle school but who’s counting. Our friendship has survived all the stereotype and I am truly blessed to have such an incredible sisterhood with my Loraaaaaaana! Hahha from crazy nightlife to our spontaneous brunch time to the many mini road trips we’ve taken to recognizing your hysterical laugh anywhere, she is truly an amazing person and I can’t wait to watch you walk down with your Prince Charming. Love you Lorena and don’t worry I’ll make sure you are on time for your own wedding 😉

Who would have thought that meeting Lorena, A.K.A Pookie in high school would also signify my bachatita partner in crime. If there’s something that distinguishes our friendship are the endless nights we would have on the dance floor. I will forever remember our “noche loca ” that went from spinning with each other to shedding tears for aspiring “true love.” Today, I have these same tears, but now of joy to have the honor to be your bridesmaid and seeing you walk down the aisle with your true love. Can’t wait to bachatita to a lifetime of happiness and an everlasting love that grows stronger with each tune. Que viva el amor!

Lorena and I met over 10 years ago through the Maid of Honor, Gloria! Gloria and I went to college at Boston University together, and connected as we were both from the Westchester area. I am very lucky that Gloria introduced us, because we’ve all been great friends ever since! Many nights dancing salsa, and she was always there to pick me up if I fell (literally....whoops, floor was slippery!) Lorena’s has been there for me always, and her sense of humor and high energy makes it hard not to love her. SO happy for you, my lil Lorenita!!!! Thanks for making me part of your special day. Lorena and I built a friendship back in White Plains High School. We instantly clicked during our school bus rides and lunch breaks. We became partners in crime with our late night prank calls, 3am emergency conversations and random rides to the city. Something we proudly shared is the #onlychildsyndrome :) In the course of time, I've witnessed Lorena's growth as a woman and I am truly happy that my dear boyfriend invited Jose to our 2016 winter BBQ festivity because that's the day that Lorena and Jose officially exchanged their first words, jokes, laughs, and of course they secretly sparked each other's heart and soul. I cannot wait to see them happily nervous and excited saying I DO to each other.
