Are there any events before the wedding?

We will be hosting a Saturday night (3/21) welcome party (location and time TBD). Swing through anytime to say hi, no RSVP required!

What time should I arrive to your wedding ceremony?

Answer

Our ceremony will start promptly at 3:30pm, so we ask you're seated no later than 3:20-3:25pm.

What is the dress code for your wedding?

Answer

Cocktail attire is preferred but please wear whatever you feel most comfortable in.

Is there parking available at your wedding venue?

Answer

Yes! There is on-site parking available free of charge.

Is your venue handicap accessible?

Answer

Yes, the Sky Retreat is fully accessible. We have also been informed that the venue has golf carts to assist those with mobility issues.

What will the weather be like in March?

Answer

Purlear is located in the Blue Ridge foothills. You can expect the weather to be be cool to mild spring weather, with average highs potentially in the high 50s to low 60s°F and lows in the mid-30s to low 40s°F. For the most accurate information check a local forecast closer to the wedding date.

Can I take pictures of the wedding?

Answer

The ceremony will be cell phone and camera free but feel free to take pictures during cocktail hour and the reception!

Do you have a hotel block at a nearby hotel?

Answer

We do not have a designated hotel block. We have included some lodging options under our "Travel" tab but we also recommend looking into privately owned properties/cabins nearby. Please note: map distances don't always reflect real travel times; please plan your routes carefully before booking.

Will there be a shuttle to the venue?

Answer

No, we do not have transportation arrangements.

Are children invited to your wedding?

Answer

We are allowing our wedding party to bring their children if they desire. We would prefer for everyone else to come without their children. Thank you for your understanding.

Can I bring a date?

Answer

We are excited to celebrate our special day with our friends and family, however we're limited on size of our guest list. Due to seating limitations, we are only able to accommodate those that will be listed on your invitation. If your significant other cannot make it, please do not substitute someone else to come with you.

Will there be meal options for those with dietary restrictions or food allergies?

Answer

Yes, we have made arrangements with our caterers for dietary restrictions and allergies. Please notify us when you fill out your RSVP what we need to accommodate for.
