There are a ton of fun things to do at Twin Lakes State Park for the outdoorsy type! There is paddle boarding, kayaking, swimming and lots of beautiful hiking, just to name a few. For booking activities, it appears you'll have to call the park directly unfortunately. This website, although it is not the official website for the state park, I found to be quite helpful: https://gohikevirginia.com/twin-lakes-state-park-va/#:~:text=You%20can%20also%20rent%20pedal,Lake%20and%20Prince%20Edward%20Lake. There are so many wonderful spots in Richmond if you want to come in a bit early and explore the city we love so much. Some of our favorite food spots in town include: Proper Pie: a delicious spot for savory or sweet New Zealand style pies. Walk over to Libby Park, just a five minute jaunt away, and enjoy a pie while taking in one of my favorite views of the river :) Sabai: One of our favorite Thai places! It also has a great vibe - you'll see what I mean :) My Noodle: Another amazing Thai place with tasty cocktails and a cozy, romantic atmosphere Charm School Study Hall: A tour of our city's finest dining spots would not be complete without ice-cream! This place sells both dairy and vegan ice-cream and is our favorite date on hot summer days. Minglewood Bakery: An entirely vegan bakery, I can eat literally anything I want here! It's a vegan's paradise. And did I mention it's delicious?
This is again for those who want to explore our city before heading over to the wedding site (about an hour from Richmond): Some of our favorite spots around the River include: Brown's Island Belle Isle Buttermilk Trail Northbank Trail Capitol Trail
This place is awesome and only 20 minutes from Richmond! They have mountain biking, hiking, kayaking, swimming, camping, and all the outdoor things you could ever want to do. This is one of our favorite spots to go for a long weekend ride.
One of my favorite places to a get a good run in! This historic trail runs from the heart of Richmond all the way to Williamsburg, and is solely for the walkers, runners and bikers out there. My favorite place to start is at Great Shiplock Park. Once you're in the parking lot and facing the train, turning left will take you down the historic canal walk to Brown's Island and the Civil War Museum, while passing a fun Mexican spot along the way. Turning right will take you towards a gorgeous view of the James River. Happy exercising!
