The daytime temperature could range from 40 degrees to the 70's. Since we will be at a higher elevation, the evenings will most likely be 30's to 50's. Rain is possible if not likely, so bring some rainy day activities or spend quality time with your new in-laws!
That is an excellent question! Because we will be out in nature, we would like to reflect our surroundings in subdued springy colors and natural fabrics (linen, cotton, corduroy, chambray, chino, etc) Please check out link below for Pinterest. Please refrain from jeans and cargos. We suggest you wear sturdy footwear as we will be inside a national park and the ground will likely not be even. Please check out our Pinterest boards for guidance and inspiration. There are also pins to purchase items online, though you can certainly purchase items elsewhere with these guidelines in mind. Because of the varying temperatures, we recommend bringing light coats and sweaters, in case of cooler weather. There is a possibility of rain while we are there so please plan to bring a rain coat or poncho and boots. We may have a nice dinner out on Friday night or Saturday night - please bring an extra outfit just in case. Also there is a hot tub, so you may want to bring a swimsuit and coverup.
There are three King-bed suites with their own bathroom on the first floor. These three rooms are mostly like designated for parents of the bride, parents of the groom, and the bride and groom. There are two bedrooms upstairs that share a bathroom. One bedroom has a queen bed and a day bed, the other has king bed and a crib. These will most likely belong to our guests with kids. There is a bunk room/game room on the main floor. The bathroom for this room is down the hall. Bride and Groom will share their bathroom with guests staying in the bunk room. Other than your personal toiletries, you won't need to bring much. The lodge has a hair dryer and an iron for guest use. There are also towels, a washer and dryer, coffee maker, crib, and stair gates.
Over the weekend, the plan is to make most of the meals at the lodge. There is a Costco outside of Knoxville about an hour away. We will grocery shop on Thursday night or Friday morning. Other than brunch on Saturday morning, we can have cereal, oatmeal, and bagels for breakfast. Lunches will probably not be planned although we can get sandwich fixins or grab something to eat somewhere about town. There is a grill on site and we would like to cook out at least one night. We will probably have one dinner out. We will do our best to accommodate all dietary restrictions and preferences. We are asking our lovely guests to bring the following if they can: Crock pots Waffle irons Pancake griddle Blender (we can bring our hand blender) Any other cooking implement you might need for specific foods you want to eat. Brian and I will bring the ice cream maker. Mom, I'll talk to you more about Costco and food and cooking stuff soon! Love you!
Please let the bride or groom know, so they can either bring some of your stuff in their car or bring some of their stuff for you.
