5:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Please wear yellow or orange to match the turmeric theme. Feel free to look online for images of "haldi ceremony" or "gaye holud" for an idea of the clothing styles and colors. Please refrain from wearing red/maroon etc. as that is what the bride will be wearing.
A Gaye Holud is a Bengali pre-wedding celebration where family members gather to take turns applying a turmeric paste to the bride. The paste is meant to be a blessing symbolizing warmth, good luck, and protection. For this wedding, Nishat’s family will be hosting a girls-only Gaye Holud event in their home.
10:00 am - 3:00 pm
Please see the FAQ section for attire recommendations.
We’ll share a meal, a few words, and add in moments that feel very us: a round of Kahoot/Jeopardy and a few friendly Bride's Team vs. Groom's Team games (because one thing we have in common is that we're both a little competitive!). We imagine a room with loud laughter echoing, just steps away from the campus where we first met, and surrounded by the people who have loved us, shaped us, and cheered us on along the way.
6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Please wear casual comfortable clothing.
After the wedding, we’ll be having a small pizza dinner for our relatives and friends who flew in to celebrate with us. We’re so grateful you made the trip, and we’d love to share a meal together and spend a little extra time with you at the end of the day.
