Question

What are some things I should know for traveling to Oaxaca?

Answer

1. Please consider bringing pesos in cash for any gifts/shopping, snacks, taxi rides (though transportation to and from events will be arranged), etc. How much you spend may vary, but generally, we would recommend converting $50 USD per person per day prior to your trip. 2. If you are checking a bag all the way to Oaxaca airport, KEEP your luggage tag. The security at the airport will ask for it after you claim your bag. 3. WEAR COMFORTABLE SHOES! We will be dancing through the streets both days, and the surfaces are uneven. 4. If flying through Dallas, please consider allowing enough time during your connection on the way back to the U.S. You will need to clear customs, reclaim any checked bags, and go through security again. We would recommend at least 2 hours for this. Pro tip: apply for global entry. It is worth it. 5. IMPORTANT PASSPORT INFO: Your passport must be valid for 6 months after the entirety of this trip. That means if you're leaving that Sunday, it cannot expire before October 27, 2025! Make sure to renew it if needed.

Question

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

Yes! There will be a shuttle service for guests from the hotels to the reception located at a mezcaleria on the outskirts of town.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Not really! We want everyone to feel their best however that may look. Most people will likely opt to wear Indian attire for the events, but Western outfits are also welcome. We would HIGHLY recommend everyone wear comfortable shoes for all events, as there will be plenty of dancing in the streets! Also, please keep the hot weather in mind when choosing clothing.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

We will specify on invitations how many individuals are able to RSVP. If you have any doubts, please reach out directly to us.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Absolutely. We are pediatricians after all.
