Nirja and Irfan's love story is one straight out of a Bollywood movie & they could not have asked for a more supportive audience than you all witnessing their "prem kahaani" unfold. They first met in January 2018 when Nirja's sorority from the University of Michigan was visiting Irfan's fraternity at Wayne State University for one of their events. Nirja and Irfan often crossed paths at such gatherings, and, one weekend, this sweet, young gentleman named Irfan came up to them at Taco Bell (how fitting!) with the warmest, most hospitable smile and charm, making sure they were okay and had everything they needed. Not surprisingly at all, Irfan was his fraternity's social chair, so he instantly started throwing out ideas for when their two groups will meet next and how he can host them. He was so genuine and kind that Nirja and her friends instantly felt drawn to the group, and soon enough, their two circles became one. Somewhere amidst the group hangouts and conversations, something special began to unfold between Nirja and Irfan. They naturally gravitated toward each other, talking more one-on-one and quickly realizing how deeply they connected. Despite coming from different backgrounds, they shared the same values, morals, and everything in between, and over time, their friendship quietly started brewing into something more. They did not realize how or when, but that deep friendship made them start falling in love. Fitting together like two puzzle pieces, two of the most bubbliest people in each group had now found their other half. Sunshine girl found her sunshine boy. Golden retriever boy found his golden retriever girl. They started showing up and caring for each other so deeply, even though they were just friends. They realized there is no better life partner than a best friend that understands you & supports you as deeply & unconditionally as they started doing for each other. They were not actively looking for anyone at such a young age, but, without even trying, they fell in love. It fell right in their lap & they took a chance at it. They decided they could not possibly imagine a life without each other at this point & despite all odds, they discussed wanting to be together forever. On September 18, 2018, they made it official and promised to be all in: to face any challenge and hold on to the love they had so magically found. They went into this knowing it was not going to be easy, but their loyalty and love transcended any fears or obstacles. Through years and years of patience, growth, and unwavering support, they've built something beautiful together, and now they get to share it with all of you! Surrounded by the full support and love of their friends, families, and community, they're finally stepping into married life—feeling grateful for every moment that led them here. They know their situation is not traditional by any means, but none of you made them feel that way & love eventually shone through & made their dreams reality. They could not have done it without their village & are so excited to celebrate their "we did it" moment with all of you as witnesses to the start of their forever!
