Be prepared to have a negative Nucleic Acid Amplification Test (NAAT) COVID test 72 hours prior to the FINAL leg of your trip. The state of Hawaii is very particular with its requirements and I strongly recommend reading their state website and definitions of a "trusted partner". My recommendation is booking an appointment with Walgreens or CVS and be sure it is a NAAT test. Walgreens has a rapid NAAT test that is supposed to produce results in under 24 hours. Hawaii requires testing for inter-island travel as well. As of March 2021, I have not seen any vaccine exceptions to the rule. We wish it were another way and we hope that the strict requirements ease as we move closer to the wedding. Please review the hyperlink below and be well-versed on Hawaii's "Safe Travels" program. You will likely have to download an app and upload your test results for a seamless travel process. I would have a paper copy of your test results in hand as well. If your invitation says "and Guest," than yes, if not, we would prefer if it was just you.
This is soley dependent on your intentions while on the island and where you decide to stay. If you prefer to live a resort-style lifestyle and do a few excursions than I personally do not think it is necessary. Uber or Lyft would be just fine in that scenario. If you plan on staying outside of Waikiki, you may find yourself needing a car more often. In that instance, a car may be more beneficial for you. Beware of high parking costs, do your research.
Men, please wear a collared shirt and nice shorts. For example, a hawaiian-style collared shirt, khakis, and flip flops. Women, please wear a nice sun dress. For example, a hawaiian-syle dress and sandals. Reminder: please refrain from wearing white, as this color is reserved for the bride.
This is where being in Waikiki becomes useful. Our ceremony takes place on the East side of the island and the reception takes place on the South end of the island downtown near Waikiki. Guests are welcome to go straight to the recpetion location and have a cocktail or two or find entertainment elsewere while we take our wedding photos. Please beware that the reception does not start until 5pm; therefore, we cannot gurantee there will be capacity at Cafe Julia prior to that time.
NO, we are having an unplugged ceremony; therefore, no cameras, cell phones, or any other electronic devices are permitted. No exceptions. We have hired a photographer, videographer, and drone to capture the event. We would be incredibly saddened to see various devices engulfing our photos or video. If any guest would like photos or videos, please contact Chase directly at the number above and we will make the proper arrangements.
YES, absolutely! A formal wedding invitation will follow as our wedding date approaches.
