Joseph & Nina first met in college at Florida State University, Go Noles! Nina had just made a fresh batch of Apple Cinnamon Cupcakes and was throwing away the garbage when she saw one of her neighbors, Josh, and his friends walking by. Nina invited all of them in for a cupcake and of course, they loved it! Nina was super focused on what everyone thought of the cupcake (#BakerProblems) but did notice this attractive guy really enjoying his cupcake, which was Joe! Then in May of 2014, Joe moved in across the street from Nina for the summer. During that summer Joe & Nina quickly became best friends (they still are!) and started dating June 25th, 2014. Joe Graduated from FSU in August 2015 with a Bachelors in Biology and Nina followed in December 2015 with a Bachelors in Human Resource & Business Management. Then the real journey began, Joe moved down to St.Kitts to attend Ross University where he persued his dream to become a veterinarian! For the next two and a half years Joe & Nina did long distance, about 1,500 miles and a whole lot of FaceTime. There were a lot of happy hellos and sad goodbyes during this time but there was never any question about how much they both cared and loved each other. Joe was able to move back to Florida and complete his clinical rotations at University of Florida. He graduates May 2019 from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine with a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. Their wedding is August 3rd, 2019 and will have been together for half a decade! What Joe really loves about Nina is that she is always positive and tries to see the best in every situation. Nina loves that Joe can always find a way to make her laugh and is the biggest supporter of all her ideas. We hope you can join us to celebrate our love story with joy laughter and a lot of dancing! :)
It was a typical Sunday morning in Tampa, Joe was visiting for the weekend from Gainsville. Nina and Joe always went on long walks as a form of working out mostly because they both really enjoy talking. Nina went over to Joe's parents house in the morning so that they could go on an early morning walk. They went on their walk and quickly remembered they live in Florida and it was approximately 90 degrees. Turning around to head home, Joe was looking for the perfect place. As they were walking, Joe popped the question on the road leading up to the house. Of course, the answer was YES!
