Jeremy and Nina met thanks to some very loving, kind, bored friends. Two of Nina's friends and two of Jeremy's friends happen to know each other, and conspired behind Jeremy and Nina's backs to get them together. They were convinced Jeremy and Nina would be perfect for each other. Of course these matchmaking friends were right, but don't tell them that if you see them. The first meeting was at a christian weekend retreat, and the two hit it off right away. Well maybe not right away since Nina ran away to the bathroom (you might want to remember that for the engagement part). Needless to say they are both very thankful for their friends involvement. There is an ongoing argument about which friend gets the most credit on match making. We'll let them figure that one out on their own; Jeremy and Nina know who really gets all the credit.

As soon as the weekend retreat was over Nina and Jeremy didn't waste a moment. Their first date was the evening after they returned. Didn't even make it a full day before they saw each other again. The camp they were staying at normally had amazing milkshakes, but not this time. Jeremy realized that Nina was quite disappointed about the lack of cold, sugary goodness. He jumped at the opportunity and asked Nina out to have milkshakes at her choice of establishment. Nina picked Red Robin in Washington, Pa. They then spent the next four hours talking about everything they had in common. In fact, they would have kept talking if it wasn't for the fact that the place was closing and kindly kicked them out. They both agree that the one thing that made them click was the more they talked with one another, the more it felt like they've known each other forever. It also helps that they are both equally silly and comical. Jeremy would like to add he was happy to find someone who put up with his shenanigans.

Jeremy and Nina got engaged in a very unusual way, but they both agree being normal is boring and overrated. It wasn't long into their relationship when they both realized that this was getting serious. There were plenty of conversations about marriage before the actual question; so there wasn't much surprise when it came to being asked. The surprise was more in the when and the where. The when was a surprise because Nina had mentioned maybe six months of dating would be enough before popping the question. Jeremy could only wait five. Before I go any farther, be aware that Jeremy Jones did it the right way and asked Nina's parents for permission to marry her beforehand. Jeremy was so serious about Nina that he even changed both his job and where he was going to be living before he ever proposed. Now on to the where of the story. The happy couple were out looking at a potential apartment; at the same time Jeremy was looking for a potential moment to propose. The moment struck in the most unusual places. Like most women, Nina was checking every crack and crevice of the apartment. When the couple made it to the bathroom to look around, Nina jokingly stepped into the shower and closed the curtain. Aha! Jeremy's moment had arrived. He stepped back out of the bathroom and into the hallway, waiting for his beloved to step out and be surprised. Well she didn't exactly do what he thought she would. Instead of stepping out of the shower, Nina stayed in and only peeked out. Needless to say, she was quite surprised to see her then boyfriend proposing to her while she was halfway in a shower. Of course she said "yes!", and the rest is history up to this point. Don't worry she's not still in that shower.

We don't know what exactly the future may hold, but there is one thing we know for sure. However life may turn out, it'll be you, me, and Jesus through it all.
