We're Getting Married!

They say: "you will never meet your future husband or wife in a bar!" Well in our case they were wrong! We got to see all the sides of the ones we were meant to love even before we ever knew we loved each other. We started at first as bartender and patron, though we joke it was more like therapist, and patient. The fact of the matter is We saw the good, the bad and the ugly. We were lucky enough to spend the first year of our acquaintance just talking, and expecting nothing more from each other than a cold beer and good conversation. With one of us gone often in the oilfield, things really began to change. When away from each other for a while, we both began to miss our conversations. Talking about our families really brought us together in a way we didn’t expect. It was different for us to feel really connected to someone from “The Bar”, especially someone we didn’t know much about. It’s possible we may have already loved each other at that point and didn’t know it. We both tried not to get caught up in relationships originating in bars. Little did we know that was a lost cause. We crossed paths one night at our favorite local dive. This time we were both patrons. There was no longer a bar to separate us. It’s impossible to recall who asked who, but before long there we were dancing so happy and scared because now we knew our stupid bar relationship rules didn't matter. We had picked each other that night. That first dance was magnetic. Here we are over two years later planning on a family and forever, and that was just the beginning of our make shift fairytale. #HatfieldEverAfter
