We met while living at our old apartment building, Brandon lived on the 3rd floor and I lived on the 4th floor. We’d politely wave at each other while walking our dogs daily. One day, Brandon decided to get on the elevator with me and Ryder (Ryder was new to my home and not very dog friendly at the time.) I’d told Brandon that I was sorry but my dog wasn’t friendly but that didn’t stop him. He picked up Phat and jumped right in the elevator with me and to my surprise Ryder didn’t even react! About a week went by and I’d gone downstairs to my store. When I walked in I saw Brandon talking to my mom, and my mom unknowingly told him “oh look! That’s my daughter.” Brandon was SHOOK. As time would have it Brandon would come by the store and hang out with me. In less than a week we set up a date and I think we had a dinner date every day after that. We were inseparable! I guess they say when someone is your person you just know, and it’s safe to say we definitely knew.
On the anniversary weekend of our first date we went to the fair. Unbeknownst to me, Brandon had a trick up his sleeve! We’d walked the entire fair my belly was content and my heart was happy because we were just having fun like kids. I told Brandon I wanted to get a character photo of us done before we left and so we sat down for the artist to draw us. About 20 minutes went by and the artist announced that he was going to give us a preview. When the picture was turned, Brandon was on a knee and it read “Will you marry me?” In shock Nina immediately said YES!
