Yes, if you have a big group it is much easier. If not there are plenty of Taxi’s and Ubers around. Just remember you do have to pay for parking at the ferry lot.
The biggest benefit of bringing your car to Martha's Vineyard is that you can easily see the entire island, even on a relatively short visit.
Martha's Vineyard is a larger island than most visitors expect. We encourage visitors to bring their own car. It can be easier then leaving it in the parking lot along with other fees that can come with it. Taxis, Lyfts, and Ubers are expensive (about $28 per ride cash), and waiting for the bus, taxi, or other modes of transportation restricts your movement.

We recommend staying in Edgartown.
Vineyard Haven is one of the main ports of entry. The town has a charming Main Street areas with shops and restaurants, along with a scenic harbor. Check out The Black Dog Tavern (great breakfast & lunch) and Mocha Mott’s. This town is a dry town which means no alcohol can be sold there.
Oak Bluffs is famous for its colorful gingerbread cottages, tabernacle, and having the oldest operating Platform carousel in America. Downtown is filled with shops and restaurants. The town has a long stretch beach located to the ferry and the downtown. The second port of entry to the island is in this town (seasonal only). Check out the Lookout Tavern, Offshore Ale Co, Back Door Donuts.
The up island towns are called Menemsha, Aquinnah, Chilmark they are located in more rural area of the vineyard. They are unified and worth a trip. Menemsha us known as a cute fishing village with a few shops and restaurants. Aquinnah is at the westernmost Tip if the island. It is best know for the colorful Gay Head Cliffs and Lighthouse. The beach is beautiful minus the naked people. Chilmark is know for there Art, Film, and chilmark coffee.
Edgartown is the one of most elegant towns on the island. Perfect mix of relaxing family time, shopping, restaurants, and beaches.
Check out www.mvol.com it has a lot of great information about the island. Please visit the site to obtain information on getting there, transportation, restaurants, accommodations, and things to do.
Martha's Vineyard Hospital is a critical access, not-for-profit, community hospital on the island of Martha's Vineyard

No, in fact there are 6 distinctive towns on the Vineyard, each with its own character, flare, attractions, dining, lodging and more. Tisbury, (which includes the year-round harbor port of Vineyard Haven), Oak Bluffs and Edgartown are vibrant port communities, very unique from one another, very easy to walk around and very easy to get between There are three rural towns, West Tisbury, Chilmark (including the fishing village of Menemsha) and Aquinnah, offer a more pastoral landscape, dotted with small farms, cozy shopping and galleries in a rural environment.
While the downtown areas are great with amazing shopping and dining options, what Martha's Vineyard is truly known for is its natural beauty. With cliffs, pristine beaches, marshland, and two wildlife sanctuaries there is so much to explore. Sidenote, from Nina: I’ve been coming to the island ever since I was a little kid and I’ve never done everything on this island.
The movie was film all over the island. The American Legion Memorial Bridge ( the "Jaws Bridge") named for its appearance in the movie Jaws. The bridge is located on Beach Rd connecting Edgartown and Oak Bluffs. Lots of kids and adults make their summer splash by jumping off of Jaws Bridge.
Nina has been going to the vineyard all of her life. Has many memories with family members especially with her parents, grandparents, and (late) Aunt Maura. Nina’s aunt Maura got married on the island at Edgartown lighthouse over 20 years ago. It’s the Iannone’s happy place well “Its island time”. It’s been one of Nina’s dreams to get married on the island after her aunt did. She also told her father, it is the only way to get the whole family on a mini vacation together. It’s very hard to get a family of six kids and there children (15 cousins) to go on a vacation together. Trevor proposed at Edgartown lighthouse August 10th, 2021.
This event isn’t the weekend of the wedding but there will be a Jack & Jill party hosted by Mr. & Mrs. Iannone June 24th, 2023. VFW Post 1979 Address: 1115 Wolcott Road, Wolcott, CT 06716. (Trevor didn’t want a stag so there will be a Jack & Jill). Anyone can come and celebrate specially, for the loved ones that cannot make it to the wedding.
No you may not. Unfortunately, our venue has a strict number of people that we could invite to the venue.
Unfortunately, they are not. If your invite is titled “The Iannone family” yes…if it’s “Mr. & Mrs. Iannone” then no. Kids count as a normal adult at our venue which makes our invite list tight. We love kids but please take the night off from your kids and enjoy the wedding.
