What is Pithi

Answer

“Pithi” is a paste made of chick pea flour, turmeric, rose water and other ingredients. The golden concoction is applied to the face, arms and legs of the bride and groom. Pithi ceremonies are traditionally to cleanse and purify before the wedding ceremony.

What is Sangeet & Mehndi

Answer

Traditionally, these events are separate but we have decided to combine both events. Sangeet is an event filled with dancing to celebrate the immersion of both sides families & friends. Mehndi is a paste made from the henna plant to create temporary body art. The paste stains the skin, leaving a reddish-orange to brown color that lasts for a few weeks.

Of course! We have hired 2 Mehndi artist to create unique designs for all our guests.

What is the dress code for Pithi

Answer

Pithi is a more casual event, light colors are worn such as yellow, pink, light blue, light orange, light green, etc.

What is the dress code for Sangeet & Mehndi night

Answer

This event is all about dancing and vibrant energy. Indian outfits are welcome, you’re invited to wear beachy, festive attire- wear your dancing clothes!

What is the dress code for the wedding & reception

Answer

Wedding and reception will both be semi-formal. Typically for Indian weddings, there is an outfit change from wedding to reception.

Is the reception directly after the wedding

Answer

The reception will not be directly after the wedding. We will take a 2 hour break after the wedding ceremony to change outfits. We will get back together in a new location for the reception (please see schedule for location details).
