How does a girl from Scranton, Pennsylvania, meet a boy from Eagle River, Alaska? Following in true 21st-century fashion, they met on an online dating app. Some might say it was love at first swipe! After matching, they both knew that they had found something special. Their modern-day love story began in June 2022. They celebrated the 4th of July by going on their very first date! They met up for an ice cream, which turned into a long car ride checking out Cole’s favorite parts of town. This ultimately led to months of unforgettable adventures around Alaska. However, as fate would have it, Nikolette was soon stationed in South Korea for a year. Their love persevered through all the challenges of long-distance. Despite the 17-hour time difference, they stayed connected through digital date nights. Luckily, the year went by quickly, and before they knew it, Nikolette was back in Alaska! Cole surprised her at the ice rink where they first went skating together. With a heart full of love, he proposed to her, and Nikolette couldn't have been happier. Overwhelmed with joy, she wholeheartedly and quite emotionally said, “YES!”
