We met through Greek Life (Our Fraternity and Sorority) at San Jose State University in the summer of 2012. Opa! Being able to share our young adulthood together has truly been a blessing.

Niko proposed to me on Lanikai beach in Oahu, HI for our first sunrise. Yes, in our mid-twenties we experienced our first one. THE DETAILS: We woke up very early (5 AM) to get fully ready for the day considering we would not be headed back to the airbnb. We left with plenty of time - or so we thought - to get to the beach on time for the sunrise. On the way to the beach, the main road was closed so we had to take a huge 40 minute detour. Taylor wanted to reschedule the beach sunrise due to the time crisis, but Niko said "NO, we are already committed and must continue on" and indeed the show went on. Once we got near the beach, we couldn't find parking. We were stressing even more because the sky was getting brighter and brighter by the second. We were freaking out thinking the sun had already started to rise because the sky was bright, but little did we know that sunrises do not work that way. We FINALLY get to the beach and Niko pointed out to the "perfect" spot. He had hired a photographer who was waiting to capture the surprise. We settled in for a few minutes and Niko suggested that we go towards the water. Once we were at the water, Niko pointed and said "look over there". I turned around and kept staring off because I did not know what I was looking for. Niko then exclaimed, "TURN AROUND!" and as I turned around, Niko was down on one knee!! Of course I said YES!
