It was a shared love for music that brought Niko and Ryan together in 2014. After getting to know each other through mutual friends at concerts, Ryan asked Niko on a date with the proposition, “steak or sushi?” Niko, of course, chose sushi. This led to their first date at Jasmine’s Cafe, which was followed by their first FSU football game, first trip, first music festival, and now their first home together with their favorite fur babies, Mochi and Zara.
Ryan had made plans to spend the day on the Ochlocknee River for what Niko assumed would be a casual Sunday relaxing with his family. Ryan took Niko’s hand and walked her down by the water to a beautiful arch decorated by Ryan’s sister in Niko’s favorite flowers. It was the same arch from her brother’s wedding. When Niko turned around, Ryan was down on one knee, asking for her hand in marriage. After an enthusiastic “YES” and with her thoughts still swirling in that special moment, Niko saw her and Ryan’s best friends and family cheering them on from afar. Champagne, pictures, speeches and cigars all followed to create a perfect memory that will last a lifetime.
