Niko and I met at Bowsher High school. I was 15 and he was 17. I’m always a little embarrassed to tell this story but here it goes... It was during class hours so no one else was in the hallway, so I’m assuming I must have had a bathroom pass or something. But all I remember is walking down the hallway alone and I had on a skirt. Next thing I know a boy ran past me so fast and my skirt flew up. I thought maybe it was just the wind from how fast he was running. But nope, when I turned around to look at him. He was looking back smiling, still running. That’s when I realized he just lifted my skirt up. I was on my way to get my brother ASAP. It’s funny now, but I definitely wasn’t laughing then.
These days me and Niko have a family. 3 beautiful children. We are in the building stages of our life. Not only material possessions, but building each other up. With love staying our number 1. With that everything else follows.
February 17, 2018 I got the biggest surprise ever. I still don’t know how everybody managed to keep the proposal a secret but they did. My youngest son turned 1 on the 15th, but I was planning his birthday party for that weekend. I planned the whole thing, the time, got the cake, and sent out the invites so I just expected everything to go how I planned it. Not knowing that Niko and my family had other plans. I had been skeptical from the beginning of the party because a lot of people that I didn’t invite showed up. (Not that I didn’t want them there) it was just a small 1 year old party. I knew I didn’t have enough food (niko didn’t think that part through) I got a little irritated. I kept asking niko why did he invite so many people without telling me. So I was kind of rushing the party. I wanted to sing happy birthday, cut the cake and end the night. But everybody started screaming to open the gifts. So I sat down with Baby Niko and Amanda brought out the biggest box and sat it in front of us. She told everybody to get back, that scared me a little. I said if another puppy jumps out of that box, I’m going to lose mind. But when she lifted the top, all four sides fell with a picture of us on each side. It was wrapped in gold paper, with pink roses on it and the bottom of the box said “will you marry me”. It was also 4 pink heart shaped balloons with the same words on each one. The funny thing is, I didnt have on my glasses so I couldn’t read what it said. Everybody thought I knew because I said “aww” so they started screaming and clapping (which confused me even more) I was thinking “what kind of gift is this”? I turned my head a little to the left and saw Niko on 1 knee holding an open box with a beautiful ring, then I knew!! I’ll never forget the words he said... “I already know the answer to this question, but I have to ask you anyway.. will you spend the rest of your life with me”? YES was my answer of course. And the rest will be history.
