Since 2013, Nikki had been commuting from San Diego, CA to Tucson, AZ for her Air Force Reserves weekends. Meanwhile, Josh was serving as active duty in the Air Force in California and moved to Tucson in June of 2013 for a full-time Air Force position. Although they were both in the same unit, the two never met because Nikki was reserves and Josh was active duty reserves. It wasn't until February of 2016 when Josh became a police officer with Tucson Police Department and then became a traditional reservist in their Air Force unit. The two still didn't meet until a month or two later when Nikki noticed Josh's car driving around the parking lot (very loudly) and that day she commented to him, "I like your car.” That day they exchanged Hyundai's (hers was a Turbo Veloster and his was a Genensis) at the Medical squadron and rode back to the unit in each other's vehicle. That was the beginning of a platonic friendship that went on for amost two years. So, what changed that? In May of 2018, the two went on a river trip with their friends from the unit, which was just a couple months before their deployment, and that was when they finallt saw each other as potentially more than friends. They exchanged numbers and about a month later, they startwd dating. Josh officially asked Nikki to be his girlfriend on July 17th of 2018, which was when he gave Nikki a Tiffany blue Ring Pop. They have been inseperable since. The couple went on their deployment together and while in Kuwait, Josh presented Nikki with an actual Tiffany's ring for Christmas, promising his commitment to her and that they will some day get married. When the deployment ended, Nikki moved from San Diego to Tucson to be with the love of her life. They are best friends and have it ALL in their beautiful and fulfilling relationship. They are excited to finally be able to call each other husband and wife and grow together as a couple and as a family, forever.
