For our guests traveling from the United States, entering Saint Lucia is easy and visa-free for short-term tourist travel! Before traveling, U.S. citizens will need: 🛂 A valid passport Your passport must have at least 6 months of validity remaining FROM YOUR DATE OF DEPARTURE FROM ST. LUCIA. Example: If you are returning to the U.S. on November 21, 2026, your passport must be valid through at least May 21, 2027. 🛫 Return flight confirmation 🏨 Resort confirmation, address, and reservation details 💻 Online Immigration & Customs Form Travelers arriving by air are encouraged (and in some cases required) to complete Saint Lucia’s online Immigration & Customs form (https://travelslu.govt.lc/e) prior to arrival. Completing the form in advance can help speed up the arrival process through customs and immigration.
Coconut Bay is 5 minutes from Hewanorra International Airport (UVF) and round-trip transportation from the airport to the resort and back to the airport is included in your stay! Pro – No long shuttle ride to the resort Con – You’ll see and hear occasional planes. It’s not constant — just quick bursts!!!
They use Type G plugs (the same as the UK — three rectangular prongs). Voltage is 240V. Coconut Bay has both 110V and 220V outlets in the rooms! What to bring: • A universal adapter (just in case). • Extension cords and power strips – never know when you will need more outlets. • Most modern electronics (phones, laptops) are dual voltage already — check the tiny print on your charger. If it says 100–240V, you’re fine. Hair tools? Be careful. A tool that isn’t dual voltage will fry instantly!!!!!!!
Okay. Deep breath. They drive on the LEFT side of the road. BUT we are at Coconut Bay and airport transfers are provided! The resort is all-inclusive and self-contained. If you want to explore (i.e. rent a car): • You’ll need a temporary local driving permit (rental agencies arrange this). • Roads are narrow, curvy, mountainous, and occasionally chaotic. • Signage is… optimistic. Hot take: unless you love adventurous driving, hire a driver or tour service. It’s way more relaxing.
At Coconut Bay, tap water is generally treated and safe. Most guests still drink bottled water (which the resort provides). We recommend sticking with bottled water for drinking. If you have a sensitive stomach, use bottled water for brushing your teeth – and don’t drink any water while showering. Better safe than stomach drama on vacation.
Currency: Eastern Caribbean Dollar (XCD), USD is widely accepted. Small bills are your friend!! We recommend placing an order with your bank for $2 bills (in addition to $1s, $5s, and any other bills you want to bring) – in our travels to Caribbean Islands we have found $2 bills to be coveted by staff. Coconut Bay is all-inclusive, so tipping is technically included — but: • $1–$2 per drink order for bar staff • $5–$10 per day for housekeeping (We recommend asking if the same housekeeper(s) will be assigned to your room for each day of your stay, if not, tipping daily – instead of once at the end of your stay – is a great way to ensure everyone is included in your generosity • $2–$5 for buffet meal service • $10–$20 for seated, served meal service and special service …goes a long way and is greatly appreciated. BUT AGAIN – this is an all-inclusive resort and tipping is NOT REQUIRED.
Resort WiFi is generally solid in common areas. Cell roaming charges can be brutal. We recommend keeping your phone in airplane mode and utilizing WiFi calling / messaging. Please check your phone settings prior to your departure from the US to ensure you have WiFi calling activated. Check your carrier for international day passes. If you need constant connectivity, consider a short-term international plan with an eSim, such as Saily or Airalo. If you need assistance with this, Nikki’s sister, Marci, has extensive experience in international travel and cell providers. Please email her at nader.craig.wedding2026@gmail.com or call or text 724.825.0395. There is a referral code for the wedding through Saily - enter MARCIL7577 during checkout to get US$5 off your eSim. Saily is available on Android and iPhone.
It’s the tropics. Even at nice resorts, sunset = mosquito cocktail hour. Bring: • Strong mosquito repellent • After-bite cream
Coconut Bay sits on the Atlantic side of St. Lucia 💨 It’s Breezy. Often - This part of the island is known for steady trade winds that keep you cooler, are great for kitesurfing (you’ll often see them!), and make the humidity feel less suffocating. 🌊 The Ocean - stronger current and bigger rolling waves than the Caribbean side of the island - WAVE JUMPING here we come! 🏖️ The Beach - is wide and natural, lightly coarser, and warm up quickly in the sun - we recommend wearing sandals to the water's edge. 🪨 Seaweed... Because it’s Atlantic-facing, you may see patches of seaweed (sargassum), the resort does clean it, but nature wins sometimes. 🌅 The Sunrises - You get beautiful sunrises over the ocean, it’s stunning and peaceful.
Must-brings: • Reef safe sunscreen (expensive on resort) • UPF clothing – long sleeve swim shirts for the win! • Dramamine if you’re doing the catamaran excursion (INCLUDED with our wedding!!! - more details to come!) • Light layers for dinner (it can get breezy at night) • Sunhat with chin strap • Bring clips or bands for towels (wind!). • Bring SPF lip balm — the breeze hides how strong the sun is.
• Stay hydrated – for every alcoholic drink you consume, drink 2 glasses of water. Rum punch sneaks up on you (ask Nikki’s mom Dena about this 🤣) • The sun is STRONGER than you think. • Don’t over-schedule. St. Lucia is for slowing down. • Bring small bills. • Bring patience. Island time is real. Embrace the SLOW place!
