Silver Springs State Park
Silver Springs State Park is 1.5 hours South, where you can see monkeys, manatees and alligators through crystal clear water from glass bottom boats or kayak.
Fernandina Beach
Our preferred beach is on Amelia Island, 1.5 hours North East from the house. This is the historical downtown area, which offers shopping, dining and treats.
Fort Clinch State Park
Fort Clinch State Park is a Union fort from the Civil War, surrounded by old oak forests and little-known beaches. We are considering a group trip here on Sunday afternoon, the day after the wedding ceremony. This is our favorite beach!
Ginnie Springs
Ginnie Springs makes a beautiful swimming, snorkeling and diving location 1.5 hours west of us.
St. Augustine
The historical city of St. Augustine, the lighthouse and its beaches are 1.5 hours away. (Apparently it’s a good fishing location. We wouldn’t know. We’ve never caught anything.)
Okefenokee Swamp
The Everglades are 7 hours away, but the Okeefenokee provides a similar experience only 1 hour away with sunset boat tours.
Theme Parks
Orlando is 3.5 hours away, where you can visit Disney, Seaworld or Discovery Cove.
