We met in March of 2020 through Brett Lakin - Brian's good friend of nearly 30 years & Nikki's “dog park” friend. Nikki told Brett that she wanted to learn how to surf; therefore, Brett invited Nikki to surf with him and Brian. For the next year, Brett, Brian and Nikki would enjoy weekly surf sessions together. The three amigos! The morning of November 1, 2021, Brian called Nikki to inform her that Brett had sadly & unexpectedly passed away. Brian organized a surf paddle out for Brett on November 28, 2021. This was the first time Nikki and Brian had seen each other in several months. At the paddle out, everything just CLICKED! The connection was magnetic and undeniable, and the rest is history!
