Our Story

They met in Detroit in the winter on one of those nights described as "dangerously cold" by the weather app which, until Michigan, had never been more dramatic than "slightly chilly". Brandon was halfway through his surgical internship, taking life one day at a time and making terrible jokes like "only 56 more months to go!" Nikki was happily settled into her second year as an ER resident at a nearby hospital, expanding her skills and laughing at every obstacle that came her way. She was lured out that fateful night by her roommate, who tempted her with "You'll like him. He looks like me." There was mutual interest, but life and obligations kept them apart for 4 months. Nevertheless, the spark had been ignited, and they thought of each other often. Despite the busy schedules, they finally met for a date in April of 2014. They spent the rest of that spring together, blissfully denying how much they cared for each other. However, on a day in July that was bright and sunny by all accounts except Nikki's, Brandon moved to Florida to complete his training. Both agreed that they would part amicably but without commitment. Life would bring them together if together they were intended to be. Which is exactly what happened. Not one month later, Nikki lost a toe in a tragic touch football game and was strictly out of work for two weeks. Bored out of her mind (and secretly pining) she told Brandon of her misfortune, and he invited her to spend those weeks with him on Clearwater Beach. For the next two years, Brandon and Nikki spent every spare cent on plane tickets to fly back and forth. After graduation, Nikki chose Love over a lucrative position in Texas and moved with Brandon into a little bungalow on the water. They've been on many adventures and welcomed their beautiful daughter True. Through good times and bad, they've kept smiles on their faces and love in their hearts. They're excited to take this next step, and thrilled that you will be there to share this moment.

For all the days along the way
