WE'RE GETTING MARRIED!

Alec and Nikki officially met through a mutual job and are that time, they were each in their own relationships. They became friends over time and eventually fell off and lost touch for a bit. Nikki was single for about a year when our friend Ashley texted her one night asking if she wanted to go to Hotshots for Alec and his twin (also his best man) Nick’s birthday and she may have added a detail in there about how he was newly single. Nikki obviously accepted and got dolled up, of course! It's safe to say she definitely impressed because they totally hit it off and ended the night with a big 'ol kiss!

They began playing sand volleyball in a co-ed league and there was a TON of flirting going on. After one of the games, Alec said his goodbyes and walked to his truck while the rest of the team were hanging out, having some beers. A few minutes go by and he came all the way back to formerly ask Nikki out on a date that weekend; May 4th. Little did they know what they thought would be a fling would end up being a THING! Not too long after their first date, the two of them were practically inseparable! A few months into their relationship, a series of unfortunate events came along. Alec had lost his step-father, Kevin, that he saw as another father-figure. It hit him hard and it also hit their relationship hard. No matter how hard it got, they stuck with it. They persisted, drifted, and eventually found comfort and trust in each other again and came back stronger than ever. About a year and a half later, this happy couple is living their everyday lives together, paying off debts, and updating the house that has become a home. Due to the pandemic, Nikki was only working half days at the office, one day a week. She came home one day SO surprised to walk through the front door, Amazon package and mail in hand, to see Alec down on one knee and surrounded by daisies (her favorite flowers) and string lights. In shock, she asked if he was being serious because he’s always joked about marriage. It was obvious he was serious because his voice was shaking with every word he said and was pretty sweaty. ALEC ASKED NIKKI TO MARRY HIM!!! He popped the question in the most genuine way with such raw emotion. It was absolutely beautiful, and absolutely PERFECT. Now, we are #InItToWINtjen!
