During the pandemic we both decided to try out online dating. It was a new experience, but God works in mysterious ways. We went on our first date eight days after connecting for the first time; and our second date was the very next day.
After talking for about three weeks, Alec asked Nikki to be his girlfriend after a wonderful date at the Pumpkin Patch! We then spent the next year and a half eating lots and lots of good food, making each other laugh, and learning what it means to build a romantic relationship on Christ. Because after all, “He is the center of it all” (Which is the only line Alec put on his dating profile-and it reeled Nikki right in!)
Alec told Nikki to prepare for a couple’s photo shoot to “help his boy Orlando out”. Nikki had a feeling something special was about to happen, but no had no clue what all that Alec had planned. Alec had told Nikki for months the wedding is a day the bride gets to plan, but the proposal is solely the groom’s vision. And what a vision that was. Alec invited everyone meaningful in our lives to partake in the celebration of our future. Friends and family met on the Balboa football field with hundreds of white and red roses. Alec and his siblings coordinated a tunnel leading to the 50 yard line, where Nikki would be greeted by her closest friends and family. Surrounded by our community and the eyes of God, Alec asked Nikki to be his wife forever (Insert Sandlot meme, if you know you know).
We are excited for you to celebrate this special day with us! Please dress appropriately for the weather as January tends to be a colder month. Also be sure to bring your appetite and your dance shoes. Please RSVP by December 15th.
