Nikki and Elliot met on a warm, Labor Day afternoon at a party at Nikki’s Oakland apartment.Nikki was enjoying one of her favorite pastimes (stooping) with a handful of friends, sharing laughs and enjoying the last “official” day of summer, when Elliot showed up. He took a seat on a step beneath Nikki and in no time at all, in an extremely bold move, put his elbow on Nikki’s knee. At this moment Nikki thought, Okay, cowboy… After playing it cool and not speaking for a week, Nikki put her pride aside and invited Elliot to coffee at a local cat cafe. Not to be outplayed, Nikki showed up to the first date in Daisy Dukes and cowboy boots. The rest is history.
