First, we would like to thank all of you for your love and understanding. For everyone's safety, we have made the difficult decision to have an intimate ceremony. We are saddened that many of our loved ones cannot join us in person, but invite you to please join us virtually on our big (small) day. Waylon was born in Haleiwa, Hawaii and adopted at a young age and raised in Kansas. Over the years, he longed to find his half siblings whom he believed still lived on Oahu. Unbeknownst to him, his long lost siblings were searching for him too! They finally found each other in October of 2020. Waylon's sister, Tania, was good friends with Michele, a friend and former coworker of Nikita. Tania related the story to Michele of how they finally found Waylon and his brother Cody after years of searching. They found out that Waylon lived in Kansas, had a beautiful son and was a Jehovah's Witness. Upon hearing the story, Michele thought of Nikita, who is also a Jehovah's Witness and shares similar goals and qualities as Waylon. Tania and Michele soon developed a plan to introduce Waylon and Nikita. Waylon reached out and introduced himself to Nikita, mostly out of respect for his sister, as he was not looking for a relationship. Nikita initially didn't respond to Waylon's overtures because she also was not looking for anyone. However, nudged by Michele and Tania, Waylon and Nikita finally met. The two hit it off immediately and became good friends. Eventually, their friendship grew into a deep love and respect for one another. The rest is history!
