While Nikita was swiping through Mirchi during her cardiology rotation during third year of residency, little did she know she would stumble across Sahil, a handsome doctor with a smile that lit up a room and muscles to match. She swiped first and after their first phone call, the chemistry was palpable. A first date weekend in July 2023 in 120 degree weather in Phoenix, AZ led to frequent trips between San Diego and Phoenix for the next year. Nikita then moved to Irvine to start her infectious disease fellowship and Sahil moved up within a month to be closer. After a year filled with listening to vinyl records, international trips, gym dates, mornings with chai, listening to podcasts, and sharing books they loved, Sahil proposed in the stunning village of Gimmelwald in the Swiss Alps to seal the deal in September 2024. To say that they are deliriously happy is an understatement!
