All guests are required to be vaccinated against Covid-19 or obtain a negative test result up to 48 hours prior to the events. Those unable or unwilling to follow this are kindly asked to not attend our wedding events.
Indian weddings are very bright and festive, so don’t be afraid to wear some color! For the Wedding Ceremony, you will see many people wearing Indian outfits. If you don’t have traditional Indian clothes, no need to worry – formal attire including dresses, suits, and sport coats are all appropriate! Most people will change for the Reception as it is more formal. The evening Reception is black-tie – think suits, tuxes and evening gowns! Indian formal including sarees or lehengas will work as well! Just pick something you love and can dance in! If you're looking for a more detailed answer, just ask the bride - she loves talking about clothes!
Typically, the majority of Indians WILL have separate outfits for each event. However, you are not mandated to switch between the Wedding and the Reception.
The ceremony will take place in the morning under a canopy-like structure called a mandap for about 1.5 hours. A Hindu priest will officiate the ceremony and numerous relatives will perform specific roles under his guidance. The bride and groom will be seated in front of the priest for most of the ceremony. The priest will recite verses in Sanskrit, but will also provide English explanations of the rituals. The ceremony will involve mostly Telugu customs. More detailed information will be available in our wedding program.
We often say that the best part of an Indian wedding is the food. There will be a wide variety of Indian dishes served buffet style at lunch. The evening reception food includes one of 3 choices: Herb Crusted Corvina, Grilled Filet Mignon or Murgh Makani (butter chicken). If vegetarian accommodations are needed, please let us know.
We love ALL of your children, however we have decided to make this an adults-only celebration. We hope you understand!
