Our story began long before romance ever entered the picture. We first met through our parents, who are friends and were then co-workers. Damaine was 12 and I was 10. What started as childhood familiarity grew into a genuine friendship that has now spanned 16 years. As teenagers, our connection deepened and we dated during high school; Damaine attending Happy Grove High School and I attending Morant Bay High School. Life took us on different paths over the years, but the foundation of friendship, respect, and love never faded. We found our way back to each other, choosing each other intentionally, with maturity, faith, and a deeper understanding of what love truly means.

After a beautiful dinner, we journeyed to Mannings Hill, surrounded by an unforgettable view overlooking the outline of Jamaica, we embraced a moment that truly reflected our journey and our faith. Before anything else, we centered ourselves in prayer, grounding the occasion in gratitude, purpose, and God’s presence. With the island stretching out before us and our hearts full, we stepped into a life-changing moment; he got down on one knee and asked for forever. It was met with excitement, joy, and happy tears, a shared certainty that this was God’s plan for us. It was intimate, meaningful, and everything we had prayed for, marking the beginning of our next chapter together.
