Linville Gorge Hike

This is one of our favorite hikes in the area. It's an easy-moderate 1 mile hike from the ridge top down to Linville River and then 1 mile return. Awesome for scenic views, rock hopping, and swimming. Earthaven Ecovillage is where NikiAnne and Chris met 15 years ago and where they call home. Its mission is to create “a living laboratory and educational seed bank for a sustainable human future.” Earthaven is home to about 100 people who seek to become empowered, responsible, ecologically literate citizens, modeling a bioregionally appropriate culture and valuing sustainable ecological systems, elegant simplicity, right livelihood, and healthy social relations. If you're interested to check out the village and learn a little bit more of what's going on in this beautiful, crazy place, consider taking a walking tour with Sara, one of Earthaven's trained tour guides (who happens to be a dear friend as well). Meet at Visitor Kiosk in the middle of Earthaven. Follow signs for Tour Parking.
