Often getting mistaken for one another, they are each other's closest companions and best friends. Niki couldn't imagine walking down the aisle without Sophia by her side!

Abby and Niki met at Abundant Life Church when Abby started attending as a guest of a mutual friend. Niki and Abby soon started a bible study together and met every week for over a year. Even when the study was finished, they continued to meet for coffee every week, bonding over their favorite drink where a beautiful friendship bloomed and created an inseparable bond! To this day, their favorite hobby is laughing over lattes. Abby is also the biggest supporter of the wedding coffee bar.

Melissa McGurk

Melissa and Niki first met at the University of Maryland in 2017 where Niki was an undergraduate student. Melissa and her husband, Mike, were leading a campus ministry at UMD and had the special opportunity to introduce Niki to the gospel. Melissa and Niki formed a close friendship as they met weekly over the duration of Niki's time on campus for bible studies and fellowship. If it was not for this introduction, Niki may have never become involved in campus ministry where she ultimately was introduced to Steven. Niki and Melissa formed a close bond over the next few years as they shared many interests in common, including nursing. Melissa has been a true friend since the very beginning!

Shannon and Niki first met at a local church conference in 2019 where their similar testimonies created an immediate bond. They served together in campus ministry and love to get together for coffee dates and lots of laughter. Shannon had the unique opportunity of knowing Steven and Niki separately and witnessing their love story unfold as their first mutual friend. Steven and Niki met in person for the first time at Shannon’s, which is also where Steven asked Niki to be his girlfriend 8 months later!

Aruni Wijesuriya

Aruni and Niki first met at the University of Maryland. Introduced through mutual friends at the UMD campus ministry, Aruni and Niki sparked an instant connection. They enjoyed catching up with the other at local church conferences throughout the years and remain powerful prayer partners to this day!

Rosa Nisenbaum

Rosa and Niki first met during nursing school, where they both completed their master's programs. They formed an inseparable companionship over countless hours of studying and laughter, and share the special bond of becoming nurses together. Though they are similar in many ways, Niki still can't convince Rosa to work alongside her as a mother-baby nurse and pass up her dream nursing job in the cardiac intensive care unit in California.

Brooke Reever

Niki and Brooke met at a church event, where they were introduced by a mutual friend. Niki was looking for a church closer to home, and Brooke's parents pastored an Apostolic church in Baltimore, MD. And the rest is history! Their relationship blossomed over sharing funny GIF's, embarrassing moments, and convincing Niki that "no, she is not allergic" on their favorite bonding activity-- adventurous cuisines.

Tatiana Hromcik

Tatiana and her husband, Mike, are close friends of the bride and groom. Originally from Serbia, Tatiana and her husband recently moved to the Annapolis area where they attend the same church as Steven. One of the bride and grooms fondest memories was attending a traditional Serbian dinner party at the Hromciks where they formed an immediate bond with the couple over Tatiana's delicious homemade food.

Namesake to Niki's Mom, Thea is the brides first cousin on her mothers side. She is fondly known as "baby Thea" by family. Native to New Orleans, LA, Thea and Niki look forward to seeing each other every summer on their family vacations to Florida. Thea and Niki share many things in common, including the same career, as Thea is currently studying to be a nurse!

Katerina Lomis

Katerina is Niki's first cousin on her father's side. Katerina's family moved from North Carolina to Maryland and now live on the same street as Niki's parents. They enjoy taking the short walk down the street to celebrate with each other during holidays and family events. Niki couldn't imagine her wedding day without Katerina and her beautiful singing voice-- a blessing that unfortunately skipped Niki altogether even though they share 50% of the same DNA.

Eva and Niki have been pals since day one, quite literally! Niki had the unique opportunity to be Eva’s night shift nurse for Eva's Mommy & Daddy when she was born in November 2021. Eva is excited to be a part of her first wedding party and practicing her walk down the aisle for her sweet debut as flower girl!

Andrew, more commonly referred to as "big fella," became good friends with the groom effortlessly during the year Steven and Andrew lived together after Steven left home for college. If you know Steven and Andrew, you know the two go together like two peas in a pod. According to the groom, Andrew is authentic, has a world-class sense of humor, Southern, and loves Jesus. Over their many conversations about life, their few and far in-between workout sessions, and their famous songwriting capabilities... the two have become the best of friends.

Tyler is the person Steven would consider having been there from "day one." First cousin to the groom, the two grew up together sharing many of life's most "becoming" moments. Throughout their late teens and early twenties, the two became particularly close, most notably for their car rides extending well into the late hours of the night... Today, the two are nothing less than brothers which Steven considers a great blessing.

Josh Lewis, aka Steven’s “business partner,” is a friend Steven couldn’t live without. The two met at church but have recently become closer than ever as they are currently co-leading a campus ministry at the University of Maryland (fun fact: it’s the same campus ministry Niki attended while she was a student at UMD). The fondest memory Steven has of the two is a time where they were both walking past the business school and without saying a word to each other both dropped their bags and simultaneously started praising God. Some might call that coincidence but they just know it’s the incredible God they serve! Josh is a leader, a fighter, and a true friend.

Tommie and Steven met at church where the two bonded just about instantaneously. The first time Steven saw Tommie, he leaned over to Niki and whispered "I don't know who that guy is, but I need to." Since then, Steven and Tommie have spent many hours together, mostly either talking about the great things God is doing in each of their lives or sharing a nice hot cup of Rise Up coffee!

Michael McGurk

Mike M. has had a very close relationship with the bride and groom for a few years! He and Niki met while they were both students at the University of Maryland and he met Steven at a church camp in 2015. He is the Pastor of Antioch College Park, the church Steven, and Niki will attend after they're married, and a mentor to a great number of people. He and his wife, Melissa, recently had a baby girl named Evelyn who will be the flower girl at our wedding!

Michael Hromchik

Michael Hromcik and his wife came to the United States a few years ago from Serbia. The couple met Steven and Niki in 2021 but have gotten very close to them in more recent months. The four met through church and will continue to grow their relationship as they are all involved with a church planted in the city of College Park. If you know anything about Michael you know he's the perfect description of a jack of all trades. He's a handyman, a pianist, a preacher, a photographer, a writer, and a board game enthusiast. As mentioned prior, the fondest memory Steven and Niki have with the Hromciks is the time they all shared a meal together and experienced first hand the Serbian hospitality.
