we're getting married!

Keegan and I met in rehearsal for the Davis Contemporary Dance Company in January of 2017. Who would have ever guessed that three and a half years later we would be planning our dream wedding (in the middle of a pandemic, no less). We've shared the stage and shared our lives ever since and are so excited about the future and what it holds for our little family- Boo and Clark included. We've felt so supported by our family and friends on this journey and can't wait to share our special day with all of you, either on the beach or together from afar. -Niki From fan to her man. Since the day I met Niki, I’ve always looked forward to the next time I got to see Niki. I first saw her on stage performing with DCDC - instant fan. I tried to tell her since the moment we met, I was dropping breadcrumbs at an alarming rate to get to our first date. Now, you can find me trying to rile up Clark because he’s not quite as excited as I am when her car pulls in. I love thinking about our future. Whether we are exploring an unmarked hike or walking our neighborhood, it’s the best adventure with her. I could not be more stoked to marry the woman of my dreams, and am so happy you can share this moment and these memories with us! -Keegan

We've put a lot of thought into how we want to celebrate our marriage. While there are so, so many important people in our lives that we would love to have join us, we've decided to keep our wedding small, intimate and (hopefully) stress free. We plan to celebrate together with our immediate family on the beach in California as the beach has always held a special place in our hearts- we took our first vacation together to California in 2018. We hope for our special day to be completely about love and we really look forward to sharing the photos and memories with everyone when we return.

1. I love Niki’s heart. You can just feel the love and joy pouring out when she is around. The first time I ever saw her was from the audience during a show, and I felt like I could feel her compassion. She’s someone you can always let your guard down around and comfortably be yourself. 2. We can talk about any and everything. Especially in today’s argumentative climate, it is so pleasing to talk with someone who you know is listening to you, rather than trying to convince you. Even if we end up disagreeing on something, I always feel like I both learned and was heard. 3. She always has me laughing. I love her sense of humor and her smile is contagious! 4. Her ability to plan and organize is astounding. It teeters on controlling the future, but let’s not get philosophical just yet. 5. Philosophically, she makes the world a better place everyday. 6. Also literally. She brings joy to hundreds of kiddos and adults in her classes every week, even on those hard days. I am blown away by the positivity she creates. 7. She doesn’t like horror movies or olives, so you know she has common sense and is trustworthy. 8. She has an amazing ability to both accept your faults so you feel loved, while motivating you to be the best version of yourself. I think it’s one of the reasons kids gravitate toward her, and adults trust her (well this and the horror thing). She knows just how to brighten even the darkest of days. 9. I love how playful she is. If there are animals or kids or even if it’s just us, it is always fun! Her inner child is loud and proud. Just don’t play cards with her - things get real. 10. I love how supportive she is. We truly are a team, no matter what is going on, what crazy idea we are working toward, I know she has my back.

1. I love Keegan's sense of humor! It was one of the first things I noticed about him, as he constantly had everyone smiling and laughing in rehearsal. 2. I love his ability to work with children. Teaching kids is such a huge part of my life, its so fun to share that passion and ability with him. 3. His dedication to living a balanced life together. We work hard and we play hard, together. 4. I love his pep talks when I'm having a bad day. He always knows just what to say to pull me out of a funk. 5. His love of learning. Sometimes his sense of humor distracts from it (just kidding- ha!), but Keegan is SO smart. I love learning new things together and from him. 6. I love that he always does the dishes. Seriously always. I hate dishes. 7. I love that he's always willing to try something new with me. We've adventured to so many new places, tried new foods, gained new experiences and made so many new memories together within the past three years. 8. His curly hair- duh. Let's all send good vibes to our future that our children inherit this trait. 9. He's my biggest supporter. He rallies behind me every time I have a new idea and throws all of his weight behind it with me. He also understands how important my family is to me and helps me prioritize spending time with them. He backs my constant attempts to be auntie of the year. (I kind of snuck two into that one. Oh well.) 10. He sets goals and conquers them with me. This year has had its challenges, but together we persevered and purchased our first home, got engaged and rescued the best pup. Keegan has made 2020 a remarkable year for us. He's my light in the darkness, absolutely.
