Time to Celebrate

We met in the summer of 2013 at a church event called "Midsummer Madness." Being merely 13 and 14 years old at the time of meeting, we remained acquaintances until March of 2016, which was when we went on our first date. We were still so young at the time of our first date (16 and 17 years old) that the relationship did not progress into anything serious until nearly a year later. On March 17, 2021, we celebrated 5 happy, exciting, and eventful years since our first date.

In September of 2020, Jace planned us a weekend getaway to San Francisco, and I had no idea all of the excitement he had in store. We visited the usual tourist attractions -- Alcatraz, Pier 39, and Ghirardelli Square, but the Golden Gate bridge was the location that held the biggest surprise. When we arrived at the beach adjacent to the Golden Gate, we were taken back by the amount of cars driving around in search of parking spots. We couldn't believe our luck when a car started backing out in front of us within a few minutes of our search. We parked, and made our way down the beach. Our goal was to get as close to the Golden Gate as possible to take a photo. When we first began walking, the beach was normal -- families were scattered around enjoying the sunny day. However, as we approached the bridge, the families became scarce, and we looked around to find ourselves surrounded by naked people. It was a nude beach! I found the situation to be hilarious, and after making our way through the nude beach without too much obvious laughter, we climbed rocks surrounding the ocean to end up in a secluded cove with a perfect view of the Golden Gate. Much to my amazement, Jace got down on one knee and asked me to marry him.
