Nikia heard about Brandon through his cousin, who is also Nikia’s best friend Shana. Fun Fact: Nikia met Brandon’s mom before she met him! Nikia would go to Miami with Shana and occasionally go to Shana’s grandmothers’ house for family gatherings. Once Nikia graduated from The Great Bethune Cookman University in December of 2012, she saw Brandon at a family function. She was finally able to put a face with a name. Brandon never approached Nikia at the gathering and after it was over they went separate ways. January 2013, Nikia started working at an Elementary School in Miami. No one knew where she worked except the people she worked with. February 2013 (Valentines Day to be exact) Nikia was called to the front office by her Principal. She thought she was in trouble and when she arrived to the office everyone there made it seem as if she was as well. Nikia sat in the Assistant Principal’s office and she pulled out a Valentine’s Day bag with a balloon attached to it. In the bag was a card and a bottle of Rose' Courvoisier. Inside the card there were no words, only a phone number. Nikia called the number, but no one answered. She received a text from an anonymous person. Brandon finally revealed himself, and they went on many “dates” as “friends”. Nikia and Brandon hung out almost everyday for almost a year and a half. After a year, things happened and Nikia relocated to Jacksonville in 2016. Brandon was persistent and consistent throughout those few months while Nikia was in Jacksonville. He was everything that she needed at that time. Things transpired and Nikia ended up moving back to Miami that same year, where they have resided together ever since.
