Flight
Catania is the closest airport - about a 1-hour drive from the venue. The main airline flying here is Aer Lingus. Public transport is limited, so the easiest options are: • Taking a train to Syracuse, then hop on the complimentary shuttle we've organised, or take a taxi to the venue • Hire a car at the airport • Take a taxi (a bit pricier, but easy)
Flight
You can also fly into Palermo - but fair warning, it’s about a 4-hour journey to the venue by train. That said, if you’re up for a bit of an adventure, it’s a great excuse to see more of Sicily! The main airline flying here is Ryanair. Train option: • Take a train from Palermo to Syracuse • Trains run regularly but usually require a change at Messina or Catania - book ahead for better prices on the Trenitalia website • From Syracuse, hope on the complimentary shuttle we've organised to take you to the venue Car hire is also a great shout if you’re planning to explore the island while you’re here on your holipops!
Travel Note
We know some of you will be making a trip of this, so we wanted to share our travel plans in case you'd like to overlap and meet up. Flights: - 30th August: Dublin -> Palermo - 11th September: Catania -> Dublin We'll be spending a few days in Syracuse the week of the wedding. After the wedding, we will be heading to Taormina Sunday 6th - Friday 11th September. If your plans overlap with ours, we'd love to catch up - just let us know <3
