Hey! My name is Nelly, I am Nika’s maid of honor, because obviously I’m the best person in her life (don’t tell Cyrus). Nika hasn’t known me her whole life, but I’m fortunate to have known her for mine, even though she cried after I was born. But if I have learned anything from growing up around her, it’s that you never know what’s going to happen, but it always happens for a reason. There is no better example of this than their relationship. It went from a simple phone exchange to a “Save the Date”. I am astonished at their ability to grow separately in the same direction. I could not think of anyone else who deserves to celebrate that kind of love more than these two.

Cyrus and me had a pretty interesting childhood. One of my favorite memories of him were when he would shut off the circuit breaker and make raptor noises to scare me when I was playing Xbox. To get back at him i promptly sat on his glasses and acted clueless to what was happening. Those memories are dear to me because I like telling my friends the latter part. Seriously though, I wouldn’t trade our experience growing up together for anything in the world. When I first met Nika I was pretty reserved and didn’t talk to her too much; after getting to know her and see how happy she made Cyrus I was certain that she was the one. I can’t wait for the wedding (and an open bar)!

I met Nika 14 years ago at a beach in Mercer Island, back then we were shy 11 year olds and our friendship was based on going to the zoo or parks with our parents. I bet both our parents wished we would stay shy and quiet during our teenage years, however that was not the case and some amazing memories were made, that for legal reasons I can’t mention here. Also our parents will probably read this and there are things that we can’t quite explain. Nika has been my ride or die for a majority of my life and we welcome Cyrus Osler as Nika’s +1 into the family dynamic. In all seriousness, this union is absolutely beautiful and Cyrus and Nika will have beautiful babies and I can’t wait to be Aunty Sasha. This ceremony is just a legal party celebrating an already wholesome family: Nika and Cyrus. To the bride and groom: y’all are perfect and I can’t wait for everything you guys will accomplish together and the power couple that you will continue to be. Mazel tov!

"Cyrus Thomas Benjamin Osler”. I distinctly remember practicing saying his whole name when we were kids because I was so jealous he had TWO middle names. Now it sounds like he was a president from 1786. Great name though. One time we went to Mexico with our families and Cyrus couldn’t swim so he hopped on my back and drowned me to stay afloat. I’m glad I can provide that level of support for my cousin. Later in high school my parents hosted a family party and Cyrus drank like a fish and slid down a flight of 17 stairs. I replay it often in my mind when I’m feeling down. Nika and I primarily share normal human interactions but I know we will create new stories and memories as you guys embark on your new life together. I’m beyond excited for the both of you and know together you’ll build an amazing life.

Our friendship did not start off on a great note – Nika took credit for my project in the 8th grade and I snitched on her! But that was the start to a beautiful friendship for years to come as we shared many late night park adventures where we had classic “car therapies,” many moments holding each other’s head and hair up for those rough nights, and would force everyone else to listen to Sunflower by Rex Orange County on repeat. We all agree that Nika is a warm, kind and genuine person – someone who shines as bright as the sun she seeks. I first met Cyrus the day Nika did at the local shop, and I knew they were meant to be. It was like watching a cute flirty scene from a rom com. In just our first few hangouts altogether, I knew we all gained another best friend in our group - Cyrus was already down to participate in all of our shenanigans at the time. That speaks volumes considering what we were getting up to (nothing bad, for legal purposes.. just kidding). I’m excited for Nika and Cyrus to tie the knot and step into the next phase of their life together!

I actually got to know Nika first. She was helping Sasha, who was moving to a new apartment at the time. In the beginning, it seemed that she didn’t like me for some reason, but it turned out she was just very tired. To this day the “perma-tired face” is a hallmark of our friendship(; Ever since I got to know Cyrus, I knew we would become great friends. So many parties, board game nights, trips and even our own project collaboration now. And despite the fact that we both can be a bit loud when talking about our favorite topics, I can truly say, that I gained a brother in my life. To many more movie nights, adventures and getting into trouble, to you guys, to your new life together, we are all excited for you and will be there to support you, to Cyrus and Nika!

My name is Jess and I’m finishing up medical school so that I can be the resident Nika should order around in the future! I am TEAM BRIDE and have known Nika ever since middle school. Now we’re a badass team of healthcare workers!! I hope in the future Nika and Cyrus are each others’ peace and security. And I hope Cyrus doesn’t mind mine and Nika’s weird dinnertime conversations for the years to come 💕

I first met cyrus through Nika. She introduced him as another person who doesn’t speak Russian. After that we started talking and found out that we were pretty similar to each other! We kept seeing each other when our respective significant others met and annoyed both of them by just shooting the shit and getting along like lifetime friends….or it was the constant talking over them. It has been my honor to consider cyrus a friend and to see how close he and Nika have become over the years. Them getting married honestly felt inevitable! I wish only the best for you cyrus and your upcoming marriage!

Whether he’s had an afro, a beanie that never came off his head, or no hair at all, Cyrus has been there to guide me through many important moments in my life. From giving me my first vape hit in the back of his Jetta (God rest her soul) to getting me blackout drunk for the first time in our garage, he’s truly fulfilled his duties as an older brother. Although I gave up on my chances of having a sister when Henry was born, Cyrus came through yet again by bringing Nika into our family. Nika and I initially bonded over a shared a love of cats and tattoos that quickly turned into shared looks when Cyrus pulls some BS. Since Nika came into the picture, every family dinner has a guaranteed friend that just gets it. Like any soon-to-be sister should, she’s introduced me to the finer things in life - such as coffee and a cigarette in the morning, drunkenly shaving slits into our eyebrows, and all the best board games. Despite my job as a little sister thus far being to make Cyrus’ life difficult, I’m finally able to return the favor by guiding Cyrus and Nika through one of the most important moments of their life. I promise I won’t make a face when they kiss this time!
