The National Museum of African American History and Culture is open daily to the public but free timed-entry passes are required for entry! A limited number of timed-entry passes are available and visitors can reserve timed-entry passes up to 30 days in advance on a rolling basis. Advanced timed-entry passes are released daily beginning at 8:00 a.m. EST and Same-day timed-entry passes are released online only at 8:15 a.m. EST daily. Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum is currently undergoing renovation but eight new galleries are now open, inviting visitors to explore air and space in new ways. Free timed-entry passes required and can be reserved online through the website. Up to six free timed-entry passes can be reserved for a visit but if you're reserving for a group of 10 or more, please visit the group reservations page on the website. All visitors, regardless of age, must have a pass to enter the Museum and passes are released in six-week blocks. For same-day passes, a small number are released online every morning at 8:30 am. The National Zoo is located in DC's residential Woodley Park neighborhood and, like all Smithsonian museums, admission is free. The zoo is just a short walk from both the Woodley Park and Cleveland Park Metro stops on the Red Line and the L1 and L2 buses drop off right in front of the entrance. Be prepared to do lots of walking! The National Zoo, which is handicapped and stroller accessible, is a large park with 18 distinct areas to explore. Passes are required for every person who enters the Zoo, including infants. No re-entry permitted. Parties of 16 or more will need to get the ‘Group Entry’ option. If you're planning to drive over, parking passes do cost $30. After selecting your Parking pass, you’ll be prompted to reserve free entry pass(es) for you and your group.
