A hand fasting ceremony is similar to a unity candle or unity sand ceremony, in a way. It's a way of showing two lives becoming one. It is a Celtic ritual from many centuries ago and involves tying the hands of the couple together with cords - "tying the knot" came from this ceremony.
Please postmark your RSVP postcard by Friday, January 27th, or RSVP online by Sunday, February 5th.
As much as we love the children of our families, we ask that anyone under the age of 13 not attend the ceremony or reception at The Palace on March 5th due to space constraints and safety worries. Well-behaved children under 13 are welcome to attend the ceremony and gathering on March 4th.
The Hindu ceremony will begin at 10:30am on Saturday, March 4th with the baraat beginning at 9:30am. More information to follow. The hand fasting ceremony will begin at 3:30pm on Sunday, March 5th. You are welcome to arrive at the East House of the Palace at Somerset Park starting at 3:00pm and enjoy some champagne or sparkling water while you wait.
