How We Met

JDawgs Spring 2024

One Wednesday afternoon after Paige had moved home to Provo for the summer, Paige's dad decided she needed a break from studying. Jayden's dad had the same idea and fortunately both of their dads are avid fans of JDawgs. Minutes after Jayden and his dad sit down to eat, he looks at the door and says to Jayden, "A really pretty girl just walked in, you better go talk to her!" Jayden had heard this joke many times from his dad, so he brushed it off. Little did he know that Paige had walked in right before and saw them sitting there. Jayden went to go fill up on his favorite Dr. Pepper when he saw a man wearing an ASU hat. Jayden had served his mission in Mesa and asked if he was from Arizona. The man said, "No, but my daughter goes to school there." That's when Paige walked up to them and they all talked for a couple of minutes before Jayden and his dad left the restaurant. After walking out, Jayden kept thinking, "How the heck am I supposed to get this girl's number in front of both our dads?!" Thanks to Instagram reels, Jayden remembered a video he had seen the day before about how it only takes 20 seconds of courage to change your life. With that in mind, he asked his dad for a business card and wrote his name and number on it. Jayden walked back up to Paige's table and gives her the card. Paige texted him that night and they have been inseparable ever since!

Mount Timpanogos Temple

Why it's important to us!

After our first date, we were driving home past the Mount Timpanogos temple. We saw that there were people country dancing under the pavilion. Paige mentioned that she loved country dancing, and Jayden, looking for some adventure and to impress Paige, made a quick decision to make a u-turn and check it out. We walked up to the pavilion, but quickly found out that it was in fact not a YSA activity, and actually was full of junior high aged kids. So, instead, we stayed in the parking lot off to the side and danced and laughed. Several months later, driving by the temple again, Jayden decided to pull into the parking lot, set up his speaker, and slow dance to our favorite songs. The Mount Timpanogos temple has been a constant in our love story, and we would love to continue and share it with you too!
