Time Frame

We'll be in South Africa before the party and planning some fun! Everyone, especially overseas guests, is welcome to join activities with us in Cape Town from 20th Dec - 4th Jan and Johannesburg from 4th - 12th Jan. Otherwise, we’d recommend arriving at few days before the party to make the most of it.

Fly into OR Tambo International Airport. From there, we suggest taking an Uber to one of the areas for staying we've mentioned below.

Areas to Stay & Things To Do

There should be plenty of beautiful hotels and AirBnBs on offer nearby. If you have any questions or concerns about any area you'd like to visit, just reach out to Niels. Here are a few suggestions of areas to stay within a 30 min drive: - Dunkeld - Parkhurst - Craighall - Linden - Greenside - Parktown North - Rosebank - Melrose Arch - Sandton - Illovo - Houghton For things to do in Johannesburg please check out our curated list of restaurants, bars, activities, museums, and toy shops ;)

Travel Tips for South Africa

South Africa is awesome! If you have are able, we'd suggest trying to check-off some must-see's: - Cape Town - Wine Farms in Stellenbosch/Franschhoek - Kruger National Park (or other game reserves like Welgevonden, Sabi Sands) - Drive along the Garden Route - Hiking in the Drakensberg Getting around: - Within city travel, we highlrecommend just using Uber. Super cheap and accessible. - Only if you plan to travel far distances, would we recommend car rental. Or perhaps for a day trip from Cape Town or to the bush, would we recommend also a car rental. Safety: - Travel in groups! - In Joburg, take cars around. It is not a walkable city. - Be smart with your possessions. Travel with minimal cash and ids, only what you need. And keep phones in a safer location than your back pocket. - Never walk alone at night. - Share your location with someone you trust. - Do not not leave valuables in a rental car.
