Nidia: It was the first time ever joining a dating app; and I joined very reluctantly! I was so against the whole online dating, but soon came to realize that was the new way of meeting people - especially after the pandemic! So, it was either I created my own profile or a couple of my friends (Maria & Adree) were going do it for me. =) I was extremely lucky and blessed that Luis was the first guy that I agreed to meet up with. I had heard so many horror stories about bad dates - and was certain that would happen to me... God had other plans! We met up for dinner after talking every day for a little over 2 weeks. He wanted to meet sooner, but I was very busy with Book Club and Bingo! LOL So, on July 22nd (2022) we had our 1st date. I was so nervous and made sure my cousins (Liz & Vanessa) and my friend (Nes) had every detail of our date and they also knew his name, phone number, where he worked, city he lived... in case I went missing! They also all checked in throughout our date to make sure I was okay... in the end, it was the BEST date I have ever been on. There were no awkward moments and we just sat and talked the entire time. The day after our first date, we both deleted the dating app. Fun Fact: When I told Nes that I was going on a date with this 'dude' - I said, "I'm going on a date with my future husband" Luis: What she said... Seriously though.... Nidia was the first girl on Hinge to respond back to me and I'm so glad she did (even though it took her like 2 weeks to reply!). So everything went pretty much as she said above. All I knew was that getting ready for our first date, I changed outfits several times. I was so nervous but I knew that I didn't want to blow it! From our first conversation on the phone , I knew she was the ONE! On the 3rd date, we went to church together. To find a woman who loves God as much as she does...I knew He brought her into my life for a reason. After church, I asked her to be my girlfriend. On the same night, I used the "L" word. And the rest is history...
