Where should I stay?

Answer

All of our events will be in Galveston, TX and we encourage our guests to stay in the area! On the Accommodation tab you will find a link for a discounted room block for The Grand Galvez which is where the wedding will take place. Alternatively, you can grab and Airbnb/VRBO or explore other hotel accommodations in the area.

What are the details to know for the Haldi & Mehndi?

Answer

These are two traditional pre-wedding ceremonies that are custom in the Indian culture. The Haldi Ceremony is a joyful pre-wedding ritual where turmeric paste is applied to the bride and groom to bless them with glowing skin, protection, and good fortune before the wedding. The Mehndi Ceremony is a vibrant celebration where intricate henna designs are applied to the bride, symbolizing beauty, joy, and the deepening of love as the wedding day approaches.

The Nikkah is an Islamic ceremony where the bride and groom are united in a sacred marital contract, surrounded by family, friends, prayers, and age-old customs passed down through generations.

What should I wear?

Answer

As a fusion wedding, attire can be hard to pin down but we wanted to provide flexibility and guidance: South Asian/Indian attire are welcome to all events. Even if you are not South Asian, we encourage you to take part in the festivities and immerse yourself in the culture and clothing. Additionally, you can also wear formal American attire.
