We met secondhand through Tinder, the classic dating app of our generation. Our friends, who starting dating after meeting through Tinder, set us up on a blind date at Galaxy Brewing Co in the quaint city of Binghamton, NY. We met just before the start of a going away party for Nick’s coworker. In case things went awry, slipping out would be easy. Fortunately, the night ended up being a whirlwind of laughter and new friends. In the next week, we had our first date at Watkins Glen Park. We've been inseparable ever since.
In the Villa Borghese of Rome, Italy, there is a statue of Asclepius, the ancient Greek God of medicine and healing. It stands in a temple that is surrounded by row boats drifting through a pond. This holds meaning because Nicole once created a mosaic in medical school based off of the very same Asclepius. Nick remembered this little fact and brought Nicole to this serene area, catching the last possible boat out before getting down on one knee just as the sun was setting.
