We first caught each other's gaze in High School. Brandon remembers my big brown eyes walking into his friend’s New Years Party, we were 17. It wasn't until after High School that we officially met. Brandon and I had mutual friends so it was only a matter of time before we too became pals. One night he pulled out a deck of cards, performed a little magic trick on me and the rest is history. Only kidding, but nonetheless, I was impressed! I guess you can say he put his cards on the table from the very start. Our first kiss was like something out of a movie ! We were at his house, It was a dark and stormy night, dark because the power LITERALLY went out that night! I believe it was nature's way of saying something magical was brewing in the air. Soon after Brandon got accepted into the University of Colorado Boulder. I was there to see him off before his long U-Haul ride to college. I stayed in the Bay Area. Over the next few years, Brandon and I communicated regularly. We would talk on the phone and he would send handwritten cards, pictures and poems. I appreciated the comfort he gave me with his words and our friendship. When we were 27 things came to a bit of a breaking point where he was constantly on the road due to his work, and I was looking for a deeper commitment. Time passed and we renewed our love the summer of 2019. It was a different kind of a relationship. Our first year back together we rebuilt our friendship through planter boxes, puzzles and weekends in Grass Valley. Most importantly winning over my mother. We were both more mature, knew who we were, knew what we wanted, and were ready to commit and start our lives together. It took him one year exactly to ask me to marry him. A couple days before B called my father and asked dad for his permission to ask me to marry him; dad asked him for his SS#.JK! And so here we are about to tie the knot! We are so excited for what the future holds and can't wait to share our love & excitement with all of you.
