How it all started ...

DePaul University - 2015

Nicolette and Ulices met their junior year at DePaul University in a Management class. They were assigned to be seated next to each other (although, Ulices will say Nicolette was dying to sit next to him) and put in the same group project. Their friendship started over meeting at the student center and library to work on schoolwork, laughing over comments made to each other during class, and casual phone calls that turned into talking about literally anything for hours. Over the years, the two continued a strong friendship and grew deep care for one another. Even though the two ventured down their own paths, they always found themselves going back to one another. Majority of the time it was Nicolette who sent the first text or call but, Ulices always answered. The two explored the idea of being in a relationship with one another and officially started their journey together April 27, 2022. Celebrating their two-year anniversary, Nicolette and Ulices planned their two-week trip to Spain. Their first full day in Spain, April 21, 2024, was a day trip to Sevilla. The morning was filled with lots of walking, sight-seeing, and some palm readings from gypsies (50 euros well spent?). One of their most memorable moments was their visit at La Casa De Pilatos, an Andalusian palace. As Nicolette was admiring the palaces garden, Ulices was scouting the perfect spot for where he’d pop the big question, “Wouldn’t it be crazy if I proposed to you right now?”. Little did Nicolette know; it wouldn’t be crazy at all. As the story goes, he asked, she said yes and that has led us to the creation of this wedding website (and of course this exciting new chapter for Nicolette and Ulices). The couple is ecstatic to be wed, participate in each other’s cultural traditions, and celebrate with their loved ones. In one way or another you have been a part of Nicolette and Ulices journey and have made an impact on the people they are separately and together. Start YouTubing “How to Kalamatiano” / “How to Bachata” and get your dollar bills ready as we’ll be doing a lot of dancin’ in September, 2025.
