We’re getting married!

Our story begins, well, at work. Romantic isn’t it? Starting off just as coworkers we naturally got to know each other there. Little did we know we would be starting the foundation for our future. Every day we learned a little more about each other.

This is where it gets good. We built the friendship, we knew we were interested in each other but we didn’t know how to move forward. We worked together for Pete’s sake. We worked closely together! We decided to go for it, that it was worth the trouble. Yes.. we ran it by our HR. Yes.. Nicolette was the HR dept. Kidding kidding. Things moved quickly from then. We knew there was a future to be built together.

February 21st 2023- Madilyn Marie Burchett came into the world. Yes, if you’re doing the math, we got pregnant pretty quickly into our relationship. Finding out we were pregnant really was the turning point, for obvious reason. That conversation could’ve went a million different ways, but we chose each other. We chose to figure it out. Building a relationship while pregnant isn’t for the weak y’all. We made it work. We came out stronger than ever, and February 21st changed our lives forever. We both really learned the meaning of unconditional love. We became a family unit walking out of that hospital. That was just the beginning for us.

A crisp fall afternoon we went to our local pumpkin patch the weekend before my birthday so we had family in town. Trent had planned the whole day, campfire spot ready, family around us, nervous as all get out I would change my mind after our countless conversations of wanting to be married. To be honest I think he might’ve made it half way through “Will you marry me?” I yelled YES! He proposed with a custom ring, made of a family heirloom. Nicolette cried, per usual, and followed up with a dinner to celebrate. Yay! Here we are now! You’re all caught up!
