APPLEWOOD WINERY On the morning of June 11, 2023, Nicolette was thrilled for a casual day at the winery with Joe, Kamila, and her brother. As the group strolled toward the lake on the winery grounds, Nicolette eagerly asked Joe for a photo by the water. She was so focused on her request that she didn’t notice the real plan unfolding. Joe, with a playful sense of mischief, called her name repeatedly, but Nicolette was too caught up in the moment to respond. Finally, he called out “Nicolette!” with a bit more urgency, and she turned around to the most astonishing sight—Joe down on one knee, holding a ring.
