The dress code for our wedding is Black Tie Optional. This means that while we want our guests to dress elegantly and celebrate this special occasion with us, wearing a tuxedo or formal gown is not mandatory. For men, a tuxedo is the most formal option, but a dark suit and tie are also perfectly acceptable. For women, a formal gown, cocktail dress, or elegant jumpsuits are suitable choices. We encourage our guests to dress in a way that makes them feel both comfortable and appropriately celebratory for the evening. The groomsmen will be dressed in tuxedos and the bridal party will be wearing burgundy. We kindly ask guests to refrain from matching the bridal party. We look forward to seeing everyone!
The ceremony will be on a heated, covered dock, just a few steps away from the main building where the reception will take place. All festivities will be comfortably indoors, with only a brief outdoor moment during the transition between the ceremony and reception. Weather permitting, fire pits and a heated outdoor deck will also be available.
We will be hosting an optional welcome party on December 6th following our rehearsal dinner, and an after party following the reception. More details will be provided at a later date.
Transportation will be available to and from the Fairfield Inn, where we've reserved a block of rooms for our guests. Please see the travel section of the website for pertinent details regarding logistics and timing. Should guests decide to stay at one of the Eastern Shore’s many bed and breakfasts, local hotels, or AirBnBs, we encourage guests to Uber/Lyft or designate drivers. Should guests decide to drive, the Oaks does have ample parking on the property.
Our wedding is an adult-only event. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to celebrating with you.
QR codes to RSVP via our website will be provided in the invitations. Guests will be able to provide meal selections, dietary restrictions, and hotel selections.
We ask guests to kindly respond by October 26, 2024. Guests should expect to receive formal invitations the first week of October. If you received a save the date, but have not received an invitation by October 12, please do not hesitate to reach out to us directly.
Yes, parking will be available onsite though we strongly recommend group transportation options.
Of course.
Guests can expect two scheduled pick ups at the Fairfield Inn at 3PM and 3:30PM. The ceremony will begin promptly at 4 PM. Guests arriving after 4 PM will not be permitted to enter the ceremony area, and will be asked to stay in the main building of The Oaks until the ceremony concludes and cocktail hour begins.
The Eastern Shore is home to a wide variety of cuisines, local restaurants, and activities. Please see our “things to do” section for recommendations on restaurants, local activities, and shopping.
